Area 8 arranges team competitions at Novice (level 3), Intermediate (level 2) and Open levels (level 1) in Eventing, Show jumping, Dressage and Tetrathalon each summer and the winners qualify for the National Pony Club Championships run at the end of each summer. For dates of area and championship competitions, please see the What’s on section of our website or the Area 8 website or main puck.org website.
We enter teams for all disciplines at all levels at the Area 8 Trials. We are also lucky enough to be invited to send an intermediate show jumping team (level 2) to Burghley and Eventing teams to the Bloom Cup for first time team members at a Novice level (level 3). We also have recently sent teams from all levels from 50cm to 1.10cm to interbranch friendly Show Jumping competitions run by neighbouring branches of the Pony Club in May and June as well as to Houghton International Horse Trial run by WNPC. All teams are selected by a panel of pony club instructors and team organisers. If you would like to be considered for any team you must attend three working rallies since July 1st in previous year and must have rejoined the pony club by the end of February. Please contact the DC Juliet Case for more information. Entry fees will be split 60:40 between parents and the WNPC for all area and interbranch competitions.
